A Day in “CAMAYA” Sands…

A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles
– Tim Cahill

Me and my two best friends were looking for a place to spend some time this summer. And considering how busy we all are, all we had is a day. One of my beshes wants to go to the beach, I personally prefer a pool, while my other besh, well, let’s just say she decided to just go with the flow. =)

As I was also looking for a place to spend our Company Outing, I’ve met Ms. Kris of Camaya Sands Resorts and Leisure (CSRL) –(Update: Ms.Kris is no longer connected with Camaya Sands Reaorts and Leisure; for contact info. check their web site as posted below 🙂 )– she gave me a brochure of the resort, and may I say, that first time I saw it I swear to myself that I’m gonna go to that place. And I just did! =)

Camaya Sands Resorts and Leisure  is within the vicinity of the Camaya Coast in Mariveles, Bataan. The resort itself is still under development and in most cases the only way to get there is if you’re a potential investor, or by invitation only. But at this moment, I think it’s already open for public, try checking out Metrodeal, I think they’ve got an ongoing promo there. =)

There are two ways to get there: By Land or By Sea..

By Land, you would have to take a bus, and maybe a tricycle too. I’m not sure how it really works, but it would probably take you 3 to 4 hours to get to this place if you ever choose this option (as estimated by my sister-in-law who have relatives that lives in Bataan).

Or By Sea.. which we decided to take. One major attraction for CSRL is that they have their own ferry to transport their visitors from Manila to Bataan, and it only takes about 1 ½ to 2 hours to get there. Plus, they have a television on board, also some coffee and snacks if ever you forgot to bring your own, and it’s fully air conditioned! =)

As you’ve reached the shore, staffs will be there to welcome you and give you some refreshments.

Me and my friends went straight to the locker/shower room to settle our baggage first. Okay, so I don’t think some people were aware that use of locker rooms are usually included in the package, and it’s first come-first serve basis, so I suggest that once you’ve arrived, go straight to this place and reserve a locker for yourself.

Photo credit to Ms. Kris, she was kind enough to send us the actual photos of the place first before making reservations. =)

If you’re looking for a white sand-blue water kinda beach, they don’t have it. But, I can say that this beach is a very clean one! The sands are fine, from the shore and even when you’re already in the water. The water aren’t as blue but at least you won’t have to worry on stepping on some rocks while swimming. Blue and clear waters are good in the photos, but if there are rocks underneath, I don’t think you would enjoy being there as much as you thought you would. Hehe..So I say, I actually prefer this.

At the shore, there are these beautiful cabanas and cottages. You don’t have to pay/rent one, if you see it vacant, without bags and things left on it, go ahead and occupy it, it’s free! =)

Oh just fooling around! =)

My beshes! Enjoying the cabana.. =)

After spending some time at the beach, we decided to give their infinity pool a try.

The lower portion of their pool! What I love about it is that they still make use of the pools’ frame. You can dip in there and have your picture taken.

And we’ve done it! =)

The upper portion! There’s a little jaccuzzi in there.. and the water isn’t so cold. It’s also not very deep so you can enjoy walking around it or swimming from end to end. =)

Drama Queen! Lols!

Around the pool there are some sun bathing beds. Again, if you see some vacant one, just go ahead and occupy it. =) Just make sure no  bags, slippers and other stuffs are on it to make sure that no one is really using it. =)

And for Dessert:

Fresh Fruits in Honey-Pandan

The food was good! The prawns are delicious, I love the pasta! They’ve got big servings so it’s kinda hard for us to finish the meal. Hehe..Also, the fruits are sweet and fresh! =)

As for the rest of the day, we spend it on the beach and in the pool. There were some activities there that you can actually enjoy if you want to. I think you can rent the jetski, and the banana boat. The use of kayak is also included in our package, but we never get to try it ‘cause the weather was so hot!

The package we availed is only good for a Day Tour, I say It was worth it when it comes to the view, the food and the facilities, but not really when it comes to time covered by the tour. We get there at about 9:30 am, and had to get ready at 3:30pm because the ferry will be leaving at 4pm. It was a very short day for us, I hope they can improve this, maybe make the day tour from morning until evening. Maybe make it 8am to 8pm! Lols!

But all in all I say it was a  money  well spent! It was worth it! We enjoyed our trip and we’re actually looking forward to come back when that place is more developed and rooms are already available for overnight accommodation! =)

  1. Hello,

Camaya really looks good and promising. May I ask if you availed 2100 pesos daytour package? thanks!

    • Hi, well, yeah we did pay 2,100 per person for the daytour, but i’m not sure if its the same package that you’re referring to. We didn’t purchase it via online, we we’re directly offered by their Sales rep,and we actually avail it before it was offered on on metrodeals, etc. so I’m not sure if the package is the same. 🙂 I hope that helps. =)

  2. Wow! I was very impressed not only with the beautiful pictures of the resort but of yourself & your two besties… much more with the way you described your day tour!!! That’s how I like seeing reviews from previous clients who have visited/stayed a/at a resort. Handing down tips to prospective visitors like me is very important.

Yes, Metro Deal’s promo is Php1,200 (a saving of Php1,300, 52% off of Php2,500) from April 8 to Dec 29, 2013 (Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays only). The promo rate is per person, inclusive of tax; lunch; transfer from Mariveles Port to the CSRL and vice-versa; & kayak & inflatables use (kayak is subject to availability though). There was nothing mentioned about free use of locker rooms, cabanas & cottages. The transfer schedule is 9:00 am from Mariveles Port to the resort and 4:00 pm from the resort to Mariveles Port.

You’ve mentioned that you took the resort’s ferry to transport you from Manila to Bataan. Were you transported directly to the resort? Was that part of the package you purchased?

The food looks delicious!!! Did everyone get the same food?

I would like to visit CSRL this coming Sept, but, is it still rainy/typhoon season by then? I am also planning on visiting Club Punta Fuego in Batangas. Both properties are owned by Fuego Hotels.

    • Hi! Thank you for your comment 😉 and i know this response was way overdue, sorry about that. Anyway, about the ferry: Yes, it was included on the package that we purchased and Yes, we were transported directly to the resort.. 😉 About the food, the three of us did get the same set of food, but prior to the day of our outing we were sent 3 sets to choose from, so i guess it’s okay.. hehe.. 😉

September is still rainy season here, although weater these days are very unpredictable so no one really knows.. hahaha.. I haven’t been to Club Punta Fuego but I plan to go there, when my budget and time permits me, I hope i’ll be able to.. 🙂

Thanks again for your comment.. 😊👍

  3. Hi,
Thanks for the blog, very informative!
Though, I would like to know where you got your package and how much is it? I’m also interested to go there, and MetroDeal only offers transfer from Mariveles port, not from Manila Bay. I want to avail that package also!

    Thanks!

    • Hi, thank you.. i got it from one of their sales representative, we were looking for a place for our company outing back then and the leaflets for Camaya was included.. Although my co. wasn’t interested at that time, I already am so I conracted them to book for my personal use.. 😉 You can check their facebook account maybe they’ve got different package in there.. 😉 here’s the link: http://www.facebook.com/camayasands

  4. Hi ahdee,

I’ve tried to contact the email address you’ve provided but no one seems to respond. Is this the current email address she was using or meron pabang ibang contact info that can be provided? Thanks we’re planing for next week vacation kahit 2 or 3 days stay. Thanks will wait for your respond!

  5. Hi Miss Ahdee,
we would like to go to camaya sands, but we are thinking if we go there by land or sea, ’cause my mom is using walker or wheelchair… or is the resort accessible for wheelchair?
thanks will be waiting for your response….

    • hi michelle! 🙂 thanks for reading ! 🙂 I’m not really sure how to answer your question though..

In terms of travelling, by the sea (ferry) is really preferrable, this way you would avoid traffic, and they will just transfer your mom from her wheelchair to one of their on-board seats. The problem will be, i think, is getting off the ferry.

The scenario is, as you step off the ferry, after the stairs, the landing is not really that stable, since it’s floating and if the winds are strong, there’s a chance you might be out of balance. I,myself, had to position myself near the handles to keep my self from falling, plus on the way to the beach proper you would have to walk thru a wooden bridge (on the wall rock side) made of bamboos. On the beach proper, there’s gonna be some trail ways the wheelchair won’t have any problem in there (I think 🙂 ) But on the pool side, the ladder to the upper side of the infinity pool may be slippery.

I ,honestly, am not sure what your mom should use. But if you could bring both maybe that would be better.

Or,I suggest maybe you can call their office (I’ve posted their landline no. above: please see prev. comments) what they would suggest. And maybe they can provide a wheelchair there? so you won’t have to bring yours.

I really hope my answer helps 🙂 If you have any more question I’ll answer it the best way I can possibly do. Thanks again. 🙂

    • Hi Ahdee, kris here! 😊 thanks for updating them anyway we have upcoming properties at el nido and batangas (aside from punta fuego) will keep you posted. Cheers! 🌴✌️

      • Hi Ms.Kris! Thanks po! Looking forward to another one of your properties in Batangas. Kakagaling lang namen sa Punta Fuego nung March, company outing! 🙂 Will post our experience there soon.. 🙂

  6. Hi! Just checked metrodeal again and they still offers camaya sands day tour with ferry transfer with lunch for P1,699 instead of 4,250.. hope this info will help.thanks..

    • Hi tinz,

Thanks for reading. 🙂 Regarding your question, I’m not really sure if its allowed. We didn’t really thought about bringing in some food/snacks because our package already included meals for the whole day. And through out the trip, there are snacks for sale on board the ferry. Although, now that they’re offering overnight accommodation, they may have specific regulations on that. 🙂 I guess you would have to confirm that to their office. Sorry, I wasn’t able to give that much help. 😦 I hope you enjoy your stay there though. 🙂

  7. Hi ms.adhere question nagpurchase kasi kmi ng voucher thru metrodeal..if we take the ferry ride going to camaya coast how much will it cost?
